Adi Oren & Gallerie 271 Featured in The Artful Mind

MONTEREY, MA — September 2026 — Gallerie 271 is proud to share that artist Adi Oren is featured in the September 2026 issue of The Artful Mind, Berkshire’s monthly arts magazine.

In an in-depth interview with Harryet Candee, Oren reflects on her evolving practice as a painter and visual artist, her creative process, and her relationship with Gallerie 271, where she has presented three solo exhibitions.

Oren discusses how her relationship with Gallerie 271 began organically after Dave and Rita Hattem discovered her work in New York City and purchased one of her paintings. After learning that the Hattems had opened a gallery in the Berkshires, Oren began preparing for what would become her first exhibition at Gallerie 271.

Speaking about the gallery, Oren shares what she values about exhibiting at Gallerie 271: the opportunity to remain present throughout an exhibition, meet visitors, and have genuine conversations about the work. She also describes the gallery’s distinctive setting—a reimagined 1960s auto-body shop—and how the character of the space inspires her to respond differently with each exhibition.

The feature takes readers inside the development of Oren’s most recent Gallerie 271 exhibition and the ideas behind works including Almost There, Ripple, Voyager, Initiation, Sunny Days, Coasting, and Echoes of Grace. Through the conversation, Oren explores recurring themes of memory, movement, landscape, transformation, and the relationship between abstraction and figuration.
